Pudong sets up Waigaoqiao station to provide headquarters economy shared services

The Waigaoqiao Station of the Pudong New Area Headquarters Economy Shared Service Center was unveiled recently in the Sunland-Waigaoqiao zone. It aims to provide centralized and precise services and top business environment for HQ enterprises in Waigaoqiao.

The center is jointly set up by the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone Group, China Merchant Shekou Holding and the Pudong New Area Headquarters Economy Shared Service Center.

The 6-square-kilometer Sunland-Waigaoqiao has attracted Decathlon, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, Fincantieri, and Nissan Group of China to set up their headquarters in the zone and formed a mature business circle.

As the origin and the most aggregated place of China’s headquarters economy, Pudong New Area has gathered nearly 500 companies’ headquarters in various industries. The headquarters economy contributes more than one third of Pudong New Area’s economy, and it has formed industrial ecosystems of global headquarters, Asia-Pacific headquarters, Continental headquarters, domestic large-scale companies, regional headquarters, and high-growth companies.

The Pudong New Area Headquarters Economy Shared Service Center was established in June, 2012 and it has set up a joint-action mechanism among many departments to create life-cycle services for the companies. The center has served more than 1,000 companies and provided consultancy to more than 2,000 people, and hosted more than 200 themed events, attracting nearly 200,000 participators.
