China shipbuilder’s Yangshan allocating center put into operation

China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s global logistics center, Yangshan Allocating Center, handled its first non-customs-supervised cargo recently.

The corporation consists of CSSC Marine Power Co Ltd, Anqing CSSC Diesel Engine Co Ltd, China Shipbuilding Co Ltd, and CSSC Marine Power Research Institute Co Ltd. The Yangshan Allocating Center is the corporation’s important step of building itself into a world-class innovative marine equipment company.

The corporation plans to create its global service network based on the existing service stations in Hamburg, Athens, Singapore, Huston, and Dubai. By 2020, the corporation will have 28 overseas service stations in six major regions.

Construction of the Yangshan Allocating Center is divided into two phases and its 9,000-square-meter warehouse will cater to the corporation’s global shipments before 2020. Also, the center uses warehouse management system, streamlined automatic sorting system and RFID.

The German Man Group, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, and other global marine equipment firms have set up business centers in Yangshan and the international ship management industry cluster has been formed.
