Waigaoqiao immigration station streamlines administration

The Waigaoqiao Immigration Inspection Station in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone has made efforts to streamline its administration and deepen reforms on management and services.
This year, more than 2,800 international voyage ships have berthed at Waigaoqiao Port, accounting for half of all ports in Shanghai.
Since 2018, the immigration station has simplified the clearance procedures for inbound crew. The ships only need to make paperless declarations for inspection and quarantine through an online single-window.
So far, over 30 percent of inbound ships have enjoyed the simplified service which has saved 20,000 hours of time in total.
The Waigaoqiao Immigration Inspection Station offers convenient and efficient customs services to international crew members and more shipping companies are setting up ship management centers in Shanghai to transfer and adjust crew members.
